Quite possibly the Fleurieu’s best kept secret, Lot 8 Aldinga is a carefully guarded local gem - but now, the word’s out!

Housed in an adorable white cottage, and serving up some of the best Chinese & Singaporean food you’ll probably ever taste, Lot 8 isn’t your run-of-the-mill restaurant.

With a focus on takeaway, its small but incredibly delicious menu plays host to some very large flavours, where you can take your pick from a rotating range of Asian-inspired delights - made from fresh, locally sourced produce - like noodles, fried rice and spring rolls.

Their signature dumplings - steamed-to-perfection pillowy puffs bursting with authentic flavour - are an ever-present option, and it would be remiss to not mention the mind-blowing laksa, served with mouth-watering char sui chicken or braised shiitake mushrooms.

Open Thursday to Saturday between 5 & 7:30pm, there’s a dine-in option too, but get in quick to beat the locals, as it’s first-in best dressed for a table. After you’ve experienced it once, you’ll see why it’s worth the race.

Even if you miss the sit-down boat, you can still grab your fix to go, and enjoy it while taking in an ocean sunset along beautiful Aldinga Beach, or at one of the local parks, reserves or gardens nearby.
