Visiting a cellar door with the kids in tow is strongly encouraged across the McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Coast (cheers to that!). They are waiting to welcome you with their warm hospitality and love the energy and vibe that kids bring.

Choose your own adventure. Think a maze, playgrounds, lawn games, hill rolling, animal feeding, mini golf, treasure hunts, toys, and more.

Here’s our favourite kid-friendly cellar doors along with what the kids can get up to:

Angoves Family Winemakers, McLaren Vale – Lawn games where you can keep a watchful eye from the rear deck

Beach Road Wines, McLaren Vale – Huge chalkboard, toy box, and croquet

Doc Adams Wines, McLaren Vale – Lawn as far as the eye can see, great for ball games and build your own lunch platter

Fox Creek Wines, McLaren Vale – For little kids and big kids alike, enjoy a rewarding treasure hunt

Gemtree Wines, McLaren Vale – Enjoy the playground and meet alpacas Gus and Caruso, with Gemtree sporting some of the best hills to roll down. You can also grab a kids pack for a small fee.

Lazy Ballerina, Dingabledinga – Nature play area, bocce and a toy corner

Maxwell Wines, McLaren Vale – Loose yourself in the giant conifer maze, please check in with cellar door staff before you head into the maze

McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Coast Visitor Centre – a nature play area equipped with sand and water pump together with great play equipment keeps the kids entertained for hours

Oxenberry Farm (and wines) McLaren Vale – Great gelati and located on the Shiraz Trail ideal for walking or cycling

Willunga Creek Wines, Willunga – 9-hole mini golf (small fee that goes to charity)

Woodstock Wines, McLaren Flat – Wildlife sanctuary with feeding time 11.30 am daily and great pizza too

Don’t forget to ask the cellar door staff, as they’re also great sources of family-friendly recommendations.
