Overview

The Festival includes an art exhibition titled ' Yalata – A Happy, Healthy, and Safe Community' - a vibrant celebration of Indigenous art and culture, set to make a significant impact at the 'Fringe 2024'. The exhibition will feature a diverse collection of artworks and artefacts, each bearing the rich cultural heritage and contemporary expressions of these gifted artists. Their participation promises a dynamic blend of traditional and contemporary Indigenous art forms, including interactive workshops, live demonstrations, and storytelling sessions. The collaboration between Yalata Anangu Aboriginal Corporation and Red Poles Gallery reflects their shared commitment to advancing cultural enrichment and unity.

There will also be a celebration by some of Australia's leading First Nations musicians, with musical experiences and performances that showcase a chronicle of life and culture through bold and powerful stories. First Nations Voices will perform on Saturday March 9 featuring First Nations musicians Glenn Skuthorpe, Nancy Bates, Toni Janke, Dave Branton and Mike Haynes.

The opening weekend of February 10 and 11 will include artist demonstrations, Smoking Ceremony, Welcome to Country, opening of the exhibition and live music with Glenn Skuthorpe and band.
