Here's what’s open in McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Coast today. A great way to support local.

What's New

As South Australia’s most visited tourism region outside of Adelaide, there are always new flavours to savour, experiences to enjoy, and moments to remember on the Fleurieu. Here are some of the latest hot spots for you to experience across McLaren Vale & Fleurieu Coast.

Little Wolf Restaurant is brand new at Mitolo Winery with a new chef, new menu and a fresh new look. Contemporary Italian fare built around traditional Italian flavours is the theme of the new eatery by renowned local chef Vincenzo La Montagna. Complementing the new menu is the architecturally-designed shipping container building adorned with exterior artwork by visiting New York-based artist Ricardo Gonzalez who also created an inside ‘tunnel of colour’ and transformed the tasting room.

Maxwell Wines

The newly refurbished Maxwell Wines restaurant features exquisite styling and unique features like their very own beehive on display in the cellar door/restaurant foyer that produces honey to make their own mead, as well as an ingredient in the restaurant. A variety of tasting and dining options is available from snacks and platters to casual meals and fine dining.

Flower Cellar Door and Café

Set in an idyllic paddock surrounded by vines, this flower shop and café is home to some gorgeous greenery and floral goodies available for purchase. It’s also a perfect spot to have a small bite and a cuppa.

The Flour Store

A newcomer to the seaside township of Port Noarlunga, the Flour Store is open for coffee, breakfast and lunch Thursday to Monday. Their mission is to support local, with a range of locally-brewed teas, baked goods, and produce all sourced from as nearby as possible for their ever-changing menu.

J & J Wines

This third-generation family-owned and run winery is certified organic, and you can now taste their small-batch wines from their brand new cellar door in the heart of McLaren Vale.

Ivybrook Farm

With over 130 years of farming heritage, Ivybrook Farm has opened their cellar door to the public from a 1800's stone structure filled with character and delicious wine. The cellar door boasts beautiful views, platters, and there’s a B&B on site too.

Swell Taphouse

Local beer company Swell has been around since 2010 and now has a taphouse to call home. Swell offers 16 taps at the bar, local food, expansive lawns for the kids, and a viewing platform to watch the beer brewed on site.

Kay Brothers

Recognised as one of the oldest family wineries in the region (1891), Kay Brothers is also known for their multiple award-winning wines. Their newly revamped cellar door also acts as a gallery and hosts regular events too.

Dowie Doole

A locally-designed shipping container cellar door, Dowie Doole’s brand new space makes the most of a 360-degree view out to their surrounding vineyards. Bring a picnic, sit on the expansive deck, sip some of their delicious wines, and soak up the scenery.

Samson Tall

One of the most recent winery openings in the region, Samson Tall offers beautiful views over surrounding vineyards from their cosy, cottage-style cellar door and gallery. Complete with rugs, cellar door pooch, and piano, this little home away from home spot is the perfect place to while away the afternoon with a few glasses of red.

Vale Cru

A collection of small-batch McLaren Vale winemakers, Vale Cru represents a variety of standout wineries from the region. Now, you can meet the winemakers and taste their wines all in one place, through the Vale Cru experience at the McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Coast Visitor Centre.

Coast & Co

This new touring company brings electric bikes to McLaren Vale, a great eco-friendly way to taste and sample your way around the region and enjoy the fresh air. Available for hire or tours, you can pick one up from Primo Estate.

Segway Sensation SA at Serafino

For a unique two-wheel experience paired with wine and food (served at the end, you will need your balance!), a Segway tour through the Serafino grounds and local Shiraz Trail will unearth everything that Serafino loves about the region. Discover a local working winery - venture through their underground cellar, drink from the source (barrel or tank), visit the bottling line and finish with a cellar door tasting and grazing platter.

Dare to be different

If you’re after something a little bit out of the ordinary, we have you covered, with a collection of unique experiences only available in the region. You’ll be wanting to tell your friends about these ones...
