What's New

As South Australia’s most visited tourism region outside of Adelaide, there are always new flavours to savour, experiences to enjoy, and moments to remember on the Fleurieu. Here are some of the latest hot spots for you to experience across McLaren Vale & Fleurieu Coast.



Little Wolf Restaurant is brand new at Mitolo Winery with a new chef, new menu and a fresh new look. Contemporary Italian fare built around traditional Italian flavours is the theme of the new eatery by renowned local chef Vincenzo La Montagna. Complementing the new menu is the architecturally-designed shipping container building adorned with exterior artwork by visiting New York-based artist Ricardo Gonzalez who also created an inside ‘tunnel of colour’ and transformed the tasting room.

Maxwell Wines

The newly refurbished Maxwell Wines restaurant features exquisite styling and unique features like their very own beehive on display in the cellar door/restaurant foyer that produces honey to make their own mead, as well as an ingredient in the restaurant. A variety of tasting and dining options is available from snacks and platters to casual meals and fine dining.

Flower Cellar Door and Café

Set in an idyllic paddock surrounded by vines, this flower shop and café is home to some gorgeous greenery and floral goodies available for purchase. It’s also a perfect spot to have a small bite and a cuppa.

The Flour Store

A newcomer to the seaside township of Port Noarlunga, the Flour Store is open for coffee, breakfast and lunch Thursday to Monday. (closed Tuesday and Wednesday) Their mission is to support local, with a range of locally-brewed teas, baked goods and produce all sourced from as nearby as possible for their ever-changing menu.

Cheffy Chelby's

For lovers of brunch, this is the perfect spot. What started as a popular food truck is a now a bustling breakfast and lunch spot. They specialise in breakfast burgers (you'll be spoilt for choice and they also cater for vegans and vegetarians as as well as meat lovers. The "Benny Roll" is a tasty handful!

Little Wolf Osteria

Mitolo Wines' new restaurant is one for the foodie bucket list. Indulge in a wine tasting and then let the team feed you. The menu showcases house made, house grown and locally sourced produce. The long lunch is a must!


J & J Wines

This third-generation family-owned and run winery is certified organic, and you can now taste their small-batch wines from their brand new cellar door in the heart of McLaren Vale.

Ivybrook Farm

With over 130 years of farming heritage, Ivybrook Farm has opened their cellar door to the public from a 1800's stone structure filled with character and delicious wine. The cellar door boasts beautiful views, platters, and there’s a B&B on site too.

Swell Taphouse

Local beer company Swell has been around since 2010 and now has a taphouse to call home. Swell offers 16 taps at the bar, local food, expansive lawns for the kids, and a viewing platform to watch the beer brewed on site.

Kay Brothers 

Recognised as one of the oldest family wineries in the region (1891), Kay Brothers is also known for their multiple award-winning wines. Their newly revamped cellar door also acts as a gallery and hosts regular events too.

Dowie Doole

A locally-designed shipping container cellar door, Dowie Doole’s brand new space makes the most of a 360-degree view out to their surrounding vineyards. Bring a picnic, sit on the expansive deck, sip some of their delicious wines, and soak up the scenery.

Samson Tall

One of the most recent winery openings in the region, Samson Tall offers beautiful views over surrounding vineyards from their cosy, cottage-style cellar door and gallery. Complete with rugs, cellar door pooch, and piano, this little home away from home spot is the perfect place to while away the afternoon with a few glasses of red.

Agostino Wines

Families are welcome and celebrated at this recently opened cellar door. Family run, Agostino Wines is home to traditional Italian wood oven pizzas, homemade platters and vineyard views that make for a gorgeous, lazy afternoon. There's even a cubby house and swing to keep the little ones entertained.

Aphelion Wine Tasting Room 

Winemaker Rob Mack pours his micro batch, hand crafted, minimal intervention at this newly opened cellar door in Willunga. Tastings are by appointment are available by appointment seven days a week. Expect lots of the lovely grenache for which Rob is known.

Chalk Hill

If you're going to capture a selfie with a jaw-dropping backdrop, this is the place to do it. Chalk Hill combines a stylish cellar door and wine bar, Never Never Distilling Co's distillery and gin bar and Cucina Di Strada (an Italian eatery run by the local pizza gurus from Pizzateca. The hilltop location provides stunning views.

Mitolo Wines

Mitolo Wines' new restaurant is one for the foodie bucket list. Indulge in a wine tasting then let the Chef and the team feed you. Select from the Osteria a la carte menu or opt to feast with the Da Not ("feed me") spread of chef's choices, or the more extravagant La Parmeda long lunch.

Pruners Hut

This cellar door was once a tin shed in which the owner sheltered when pruning vines. Now, it is a contemporary space in which you can taste wine, relax with a meal and enjoy the art exhibitions that change on a monthly basis.

State of Mind Coffee

A coffee spot for people who can't make it through the day without a specialty brew in hand. It's not all about caffeine hits though, the locally sourced sweet treats and freshly squeezed juices are a great way to kick-start a day of exploration too.

Vigna Bottin Wines

This homely cellar door and osteria is great to taste wine (Italian varieties of course!) with delicious Italian-inspired dishes. Since opening, their menu has earned a devoted following and can be enjoyed in the stylish dining space, rustic shed with vineyard views, a great one for groups and families!


Coast & Co

This new touring company brings electric bikes to McLaren Vale, a great eco-friendly way to taste and sample your way around the region and enjoy the fresh air. Available for hire or tours, you can pick one up from Primo Estate.

Segway Sensation SA at Serafino

For a unique two-wheel experience paired with wine and food (served at the end, you will need your balance!), a Segway tour through the Serafino grounds and local Shiraz Trail will unearth everything that Serafino loves about the region. Discover a local working winery - venture through their underground cellar, drink from the source (barrel or tank), visit the bottling line and finish with a cellar door tasting and grazing platter.


This delightful pun-packed gift store in Willunga is a must. Specialising in cooking and food inspired gifts which add a touch of quirkiness to your kitchen whilst celebrating the little things in your day.
