Things To Do in your Summer Holidays
McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Coast is the perfect spot to explore this summer with some of the best places to visit in the January school holidays.
Here’s some of our tips!
Time for the beach!
Aldinga Beach
One of SA’s beaches you can drive on, this is the perfect spot for families. Pack the dog, kids, beach cricket gear and of course your picnic bbq and settle in for the sunset. If beachside dining is more your think, we have that in spades too, best to book as they are popular.
Christies Beach
Christies Beach is home to Witton Bluff Reef so great for snorkelling, but its clean white sands make for the ideal walk along the beach too. Adjacent the beach is the shopping precinct full of café’s, bakeries, and retail stores.
Port Noarlunga Beach
Port Noarlunga Beach is a true aquatic paradise. You can snorkel the reef and spot some of the sea life or hire a kayak from Easy Kayaks and discover the beautiful Onkaparinga River.
Keep an eye out for Cabana Club on the beachfront over summer when the heart of Brazil comes to Adelaide, think cocktails, food and dancing!
Port Willunga Beach
Try your hand with SUP (Stand up Paddle) or snorkelling across the Star of Greece Shipwreck. SUP Down South offers paddle boarding hire and lessons,) or if your prefer swimming , you can swim at any time of day here and as the waves are often very calm.
Dine with a beach view
Star of Greece in Port Willunga offers stunning beach views, bookings are essential as the clifftop seats are in high demand! Or for a more relaxed feel, buy your freshly cooked seafood, squid, chips or burgers from the newly renovated Port Willy Kiosk (part of Star of Greece) and eat it on the deck while taking in the amazing views.
