Curious about chickens? Come on a journey into the world of chickens! Learn all the basics of keeping them happy and healthy!
This workshop is for those new to poultry or are wanting their own and don't know where to start. You may already have a flock and want to learn more holistic methods of keeping chickens. This is an interactive workshop so expect to get up close and personal with some feathered friends. This workshop is located on our beautiful farm with afternoon tea provided. Connect with other like-minded individuals and join them for a fun session.
What you will learn-
Health – How we holistically treat our flock and products we have tried and tested. Including a demonstration on 'how to trim wings'. Plus recognising pests and diseases.
Breeds – Check out their various breeds of poultry and their perks - eg. egg layers, meat birds, or just be delightful!
Diet – Free ranging, organic mixes, mainstream pellets? Which feeds are best and why
Housing – Keeping your poultry happy, healthy, pest-free!
Behaviour – What triggers them to respond the way they do, and how to break broodiness.·
Gardening – Chickens are such useful tools for your garden. Understand how you can have a walking fertilser, tiller, and bug terminator all in one.
