Coastal Charm, cafes & the Witton Bluff Base Trail

Just 40 mins south of Adelaide CBD, Christies Beach is home to a unque blend of sun, sand and shopping. Stroll along the esplanade, explore funky cafes and indulge in some retail therapy, including more than a few quirky seaside shops.

Families with young kids and less experienced swimmers might like to head a little further north where a patrolled beach can be found in front of the Christies Beach Surf Lifesaving Club and Sailing Club. Or enjoy the newly completed Witton Bluff Base Trail, linking to the neighbouring township of Port Noarlunga.

Beach, Shopping and Cafe Life

Beachside vibes meet retail therapy
  • The wide sweep of sand and calm shallows make Christies Beach ideal for families, swimmers and casual beachgoers.

  • A laid-back yet lively shopping precinct along Beach Road features quirky seaside shops, street murals and mosaic artworks — perfect for a coffee or brunch stop.

  • Don’t miss: the first & third Sunday open-air market (kid-friendly, vintage finds, fresh produce).

  • Dining: from take-away fish & chips to relaxed cafés with beach views.

  • Tip: Wander down at golden hour for great photo-ops, and stay on the look-out for local murals that make this a social-media-friendly spot.
