The Lawns at Woodstock is the perfect place for friends and family to gather and enjoy a casual afternoon in the breathtaking surrounds of Woodstock's native gardens and picturesque vineyards.
In collaboration with the team from Gin Long Canteen, Woodstock has set up The Lawns as a casual dining experience, sharing some of Gin Long's favourite dishes, plus some exciting new plates from their flagship restaurant in North Adelaide. (Please note kitchen closes at 2:30pm. Bar closes at 4:00pm.)
Designed for sharing, and ideal for pairing with Woodstock wines, we are delighted to bring these incredible flavours to McLaren Vale!
The Lawns at Woodstock is located adjacent the Coterie Tasting Room and is open on weekends and public holidays 11.30am - 4pm during the months of November to April.
Set on our picturesque lawns, guests can lounge on our outdoor settings or bring a picnic rug and enjoy the serenity amongst native gardens and vineyards.
With a playground for the children, and live music on weekends, The Lawns are the perfect place to spend a weekend enjoying good food, wine and company in McLaren Vale.
The Woodstock Wildlife Sanctuary is home to Eden, Maple, Rawnsely, Prairie, Abraham and Dusty, all rescued Western Grey Kangaroos. Together with a friendly emu called Maverick, they will be the ones meeting and greeting you at our feeding sessions.
In 2021 we welcomed two rescue orphan Western Grey Kangaroos, Rooby and Clare.
The wildlife numbers in the sanctuary continue to grow through breeding, and as more rescued, hand-reared animals are offered to our care.
We encourage you to look up into the majestic gum trees on the Estate, both the ones inside and outside the Sanctuary, as we often have visiting koalas stopping by to nibble on their favourite Eucalypts. Considering koalas can spend up to 20 hours a day sleeping, seeing one quietly perched and fast asleep in the fork of one of our gum trees is not unusual.
We are pleased to be able to offer visitors to Woodstock a unique and truly Australian encounter with the animals in the Sanctuary. We hold a supervised feeding session each day at 11:30am.
Dusty, Maverick, and the more tame residents, being the Grey Kangaroos and some Wallabies, look forward to this session each day as much as we do!
Long before table wine took centre stage, pioneering winemakers like Doug Collett; Woodstock founder, aviator, and visionary helped cement Australia's reputation for world-class fortified wines. Today, his grandson and now winemaker Peter Collett carries that legacy forward, sharing precious cellar-aged treasures and championing the fortified styles that shaped McLaren Vale's
winemaking identity.
In collaboration with Trilby's Chocolates, we've custom-matched four Woodstock fortified wines with a flight of handcrafted, bean-to-bar artisan chocolates, creating an indulgent expression of South Australia at its finest. Founded by chocolate maker Max Collett, whose passionate approach to sourcing, roasting, and crafting cacao mirrors the precision of fine winemaking, Trilby's brings a beautifully bespoke dimension to this experience.
Sticky Fingers at Woodstock invites you to rediscover the pure pleasure of fortified wines: to delve into their extensive winemaking and maturation journey, and to immerse yourself in the sensory richness that only time-honoured craft can deliver.
Each chocolate has been carefully selected by Max and Peter, to elevate the tasting; accentuating layers, textures, and nuanced flavours within our fortifieds.
$50 per person includes four fortified wines, their paired Trilby's chocolates in a self-guided tasting, plus a bottle of your favourite Woodstock fortified to take home (Matriarch Muscat +$15).
The Coterie tasting room is designed to allow for an interactive and relaxed experience between the Woodstock team and our guests. Constructed from locally sourced natural martials, our sustainably built rammed earth Coterie, overlooks our native gardens and vineyards. The Coterie tasting room is the perfect place to discover our range of wines.
