Juxtaposed Wines

Juxtaposed Wines is the passion project of Wes Pearson and Cassie Southwell, working together to deliver high-quality, regionally expressive wines from McLaren Vale, South Australia.

The small, family-owned business has been making wines in McLaren Vale since 2011, delivering wines from iconic old vine sites that express the characteristics unique to that place.

The Juxtaposed wines are free-form wines – they are not beholden to any rules or structure. They are simply expressions of a particular place or style. They are wines that are focused on suitability to their culture and climate first and foremost, as well as being expressions of the place from which they came. They are not manipulated or overhandled.

The French call it terroir, and it is the idea that something can taste of the place that it comes from. This pursuit of understanding terroir and its effect on their wines has led all the way to a PhD thesis, and it is at the core of who Juxtaposed Wines are and what we do.

Juxtaposed Wines are honest wines where the work is done in the vineyard, so there's less to do in the winery.

This is a unique inside access McLaren Vale experience. Walk-ins are welcome, but booking in advance is recommended to ensure the best experience.
