Overview
Want to learn how to make your own brooch? Join this jewellery-making class, perfect for beginners!
In this workshop, you will be guided on how to create your own mother-of-pearl inlay brooch.
Nacre inlay, also known as mother-of-pearl inlay, is the decorative art of embedding thin pieces of iridescent nacre (mollusc shell) into wood or other materials, creating beautiful patterns for furniture, musical instruments (like guitars), jewellery, and decorative boxes. Artisans carve designs into the base material, shape the shell pieces, inlay them, and then polish and seal the surface for a durable, luxurious effect.
During the class, you will learn how to work with delicate mother-of-pearl inlay and transform it into a beautiful brooch. The activity is designed to be relaxing and enjoyable, leaving you with a sense of accomplishment and newfound skills.
By the end of the class, you can take home your own brooch jewellery to wear and cherish!
